Our Approach to Community Outreach

dependence on volunteers

One of the most important features of SCW.CA is our complete dependence on volunteers. Except for some very small operational expenses, such as, our mandatory annual audit, SCW has no overhead costs. This means that SCW.CA expects that more than 95% of the money given to us by our supporters will go directly to a school construction project. This is a very unique claim among charitable organizations.

Consequently, SCW.CA has been able to organize a series of successful community outreach and fundraising events. Our Directors and various Committees have helped establish an annual wine and cheese event, an annual golf tournament, an annual letter writing campaign, and an annual speaking event.

Additionally, the SCW.CA Youth Executive Committee has made itself visible within the York Region community and introduced SCW.CA to regional school boards who have organized fundraisers for the organization.
